Welcome to the official website of Sid van der Meer’s Bordertown Garage and Museum! Located in the most westerly community in Canada, Sid has transformed his home and backyard into a themed museum that houses his massive collection. Although Bordertown Garage and Museum is located on private property, it is Sid’s desire to share his collection with those who would appreciate it the most. The COVID-19 pandemic halted many potential visitors from seeing Bordertown and enjoying the collection. In an attempt to share more of the collection in an accessible manner, we applied to the Yukon Historic Resources Fund to help with the development of an archive at Bordertown and this beautiful website.

Bordertown Garage and Museum would like to acknowledge and thank the Yukon Historical Resources Fund whose generous funding allowed for the initial archiving of Sid’s Collection as well as the creation of this comprehensive website designed and created by Christopher Walton and Sid’s granddaughter Teresa Vander Meer-Chassé.
