Bordertown Garage & Museum
Who We Are
The Hidden Gem of the Yukon
Bordertown Garage and Museum was established in 1996 in Beaver Creek, Yukon, Canada by Sid van der Meer. Bordertown Garage and Museum houses Sid’s private collection that he has been adding to for over fifty years. He built the structures in his backyard from recycled wood and materials he had on hand. The Museum itself is divided into several rooms and buildings, including a General Store, Barber Shop, Bath House, Gold Miner’s Home, Army Workshop, and an Old Garage. The Collection includes classic vehicles, numerous items that date to the Klondike Gold Rush and earlier, a trove of World War I and II memorabilia, tools, antiques, furniture, art, and the list goes on. Most recently, Sid and his Granddaughter Teresa have developed an archive of Sid’s paper collection including documents, letters, books, and maps that cover a wide range of topics.
